Worker Requirements
Requirements to work with Wofo
Wofo works with experienced healthcare workers across a range of healthcare environments. Requirements can vary depending on the role you are applying for, but all contractors must complete the onboarding, verification, and compliance steps required to help keep workers, facilities, and the people receiving care safe and supported.
Some roles require formal qualifications or current professional credentials, while others may be suitable for experienced workers with strong practical experience and references. The goal is simple: make sure the right people are working in the right environments with the right checks in place.
Identity & Right to Work
You will need to provide valid identification and evidence that you are legally entitled to work in New Zealand. This helps us verify who you are and ensure your profile is ready for healthcare work.
- • valid photo identification
- • New Zealand driver licence or passport where available
- • visa or work entitlement information if required
- • accurate personal and contact details
Experience & References
Facilities rely on Wofo workers to step confidently into healthcare environments and support existing teams professionally. Applicants are generally expected to have relevant experience appropriate to the type of role they are applying for.
A registered nurse will need to meet different requirements from a support worker, healthcare assistant, kitchen worker, or other healthcare support role. Some roles require formal qualifications, while others may accept strong practical experience supported by references and work history.
- • professional references
- • relevant work history
- • role-specific experience information
- • an up-to-date CV
- • qualification or training evidence where applicable
Current Credentials & Certifications
Some healthcare roles require active registrations, certificates, or competencies before shifts can be accepted. These requirements depend on the type of work you are applying for and the facilities you may be supporting.
- • nurses must hold a valid Annual Practising Certificate where required
- • relevant healthcare qualifications where applicable
- • first aid certificates where required
- • medication competencies where relevant to the role
- • manual handling or other role-specific training where required
Safety Checks & Vetting
To help protect facilities, workers, residents, patients, and vulnerable people, some roles may require additional screening and safety checks during onboarding.
- • police vetting where required
- • Vulnerable Children’s Act checks where applicable
- • reference validation
- • identity verification
- • role-appropriate compliance checks
Banking & Payment Details
Contractors are required to provide a valid New Zealand bank account so payments can be processed correctly and efficiently. You are responsible for ensuring your payment and contact details remain accurate and up to date.
- • valid New Zealand bank account
- • accurate payment details
- • current email address and phone number
Device & Platform Access
Workers need access to a smartphone with a modern web browser and reliable mobile data or Wi-Fi. Wofo runs through a web-based platform, so you do not need a specific phone model. As long as your device can reliably access the internet, open the Wofo platform, and allow location access when checking in and out of shifts, you should be able to use the system.
For accurate shift records, workers must be able to use their phone to check in and check out at the facility.
Professional Expectations
Working through Wofo means representing yourself professionally in healthcare environments where facilities are often under significant operational pressure. Workers are expected to communicate respectfully, provide safe care, arrive prepared, and contribute positively to the teams they support.
- • commitment to safe and respectful care
- • professional communication
- • punctuality and reliability
- • respect for confidentiality
- • adaptability across different healthcare environments
- • willingness to follow facility processes and escalate concerns appropriately
