Worker onboarding

Working with Wofo

Working through Wofo gives experienced healthcare workers the opportunity to choose shifts that suit their life while supporting facilities that genuinely need capable people. Agency work is different from being based in one permanent workplace, but for the right person it can be flexible, rewarding, and a great way to build confidence across different healthcare environments.

Wofo works with experienced workers across healthcare roles, including support workers, healthcare assistants, nurses, kitchen staff, and other care support roles. Facilities rely on Wofo because they need people who can step in, communicate clearly, and support existing teams without adding extra pressure.

Every facility is a little different. Layouts, routines, documentation, handover processes, and team expectations can vary from site to site. That is normal. The workers who do best are the ones who arrive prepared, ask sensible questions early, stay calm, and focus on being useful from the moment they walk in.

Our goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and ready to represent yourself and Wofo professionally. When you work well with facility teams, communicate properly, and deliver consistent care, you build trust. That trust leads to better shifts, stronger relationships, and more opportunities over time.

Why workers choose agency work

  • • more control over when and where you work
  • • exposure to different healthcare environments
  • • opportunities to build confidence and experience
  • • variety across facilities, teams, and shift types
  • • support from the Wofo team when you need help

What great Wofo workers do

  • • arrive prepared and on time
  • • introduce themselves professionally
  • • ask questions early instead of guessing
  • • communicate clearly with nurses, managers, and team members
  • • respect each facility’s routines and ways of working
  • • stay calm and helpful when the shift gets busy
  • • represent Wofo with pride and professionalism

Before your first shifts

Before accepting shifts, make sure your profile, documents, availability, and contact details are up to date. Read any shift notes carefully, allow enough travel time, and make sure you understand the role you are accepting. If anything is unclear, ask the Wofo team before the shift starts.

Quick checklist

  • • confirm the facility location and start time
  • • check your uniform and presentation
  • • charge your phone
  • • allow extra travel time
  • • read the shift notes before arrival
  • • know who to contact if you are delayed or unsure

Set yourself up for success

The best agency workers are not just skilled. They are reliable, adaptable, respectful, and easy for facility teams to work with. If you bring that mindset to each shift, you will give yourself the best chance of building strong relationships through Wofo.
